Weather Summary

Southeast Georgia received strong thunderstorms this afternoon, with some locations picking up more than 2 inches of rain. (You can find the doppler estimated rainfall totals for today below.) Numerous counties in Georgia were put under severe thunderstorm warnings, around 5 PM as storms pushed from north to south. Glynn County, Gerogia seemed to take the brunt of the storms with damage reports coming in from across the entire county. Storms fizzled out though as they reached North Florida.

  • Wind gust of 40 mph was reported at St. Augustine Airport, FL
  • Wind gust of 48 mph at Cecil Field, FL
  • Numerous trees down over St. Simons Island, GA
  • Numerous trees down in area of Blythe Island, GA
